How Much Does Garage Door Repair Cost in Dallas–Fort Worth? (2026 Guide)

By Pebblegrove Garage Doors · 2026-07-21 · Serving Dallas–Fort Worth

Garage door pricing is opaque on purpose at a lot of companies — a low number on the phone, a different one in the driveway. Here are the typical Dallas–Fort Worth market ranges we work against, and more usefully, what pushes a job toward the low or high end of each.

RepairTypical DFW rangeWhat moves the number
Torsion spring (single)$180–$380Door weight, standard vs. high-cycle spring
Torsion springs (pair)$280–$550Same — pairs are cheaper than two separate visits
Opener repair$120–$350Gear kit vs. logic board vs. sensors
New opener installed$350–$750Chain vs. belt drive, battery backup, smart features
Off-track door$150–$400Whether track and rollers survived
Panel replacement$250–$800Door model availability and finish
New door installed$900–$4,500Single vs. double, insulation, style

Every job is unique — treat these as orientation, not a quote. Three honest rules for reading any garage door quote in DFW:

1. The service call should be flat and waived with work. Ours is $75, and it disappears if we do the repair. A company that charges a trip fee on top of the repair is telling you something about the rest of the invoice.

2. Be suspicious of $39 spring specials. The bait-and-switch pattern in this market is a too-cheap advertised price that becomes a $700+ invoice in the driveway via "lifetime" hardware bundles you didn't ask for. A realistic single-spring job has roughly $180 of parts and labor in it — nobody profitable is doing it for $39.

3. Get the quote in writing before work starts. Any legitimate company will inspect the door, write the number down, and stand behind it. That's how we operate — the written quote is the price.

Related questions

What's the most common garage door repair?

Broken torsion springs, by a wide margin. They're rated in open/close cycles (builder-grade is ~10,000), so at 4–6 cycles a day they fail on schedule in 5–8 years — usually with a loud bang.

Why do garage door quotes vary so much between companies?

Part quality (standard vs. high-cycle springs), what's bundled (some firms replace hardware that doesn't need it), and business model (national lead-resellers add a middleman margin; local companies don't).
